Against Overwhelming Concrete Jungle Construction

Nowadays, concrete jungle becomes hot news in our surrounding. Concrete jungle is the use of hectares rice fields into permanent buildings. Concrete jungle or land conversion in Indonesia has reached an alarming level. Every year, land conversion reaches the number of 110 thousand hectares. Many investors want to build hotels, factories, residences, and so forth in rice field area. This phenomenon will bring many disadvantages for people’s life.  Here are my views why we should against concrete jungle construction.

Most people agree to against investors who want to buy our rice fields because it will cause exceptional food crisis in the future. Concrete jungle construction by investors will make Indonesian’s condition is getting worse. We can imagine how poor Indonesia will be in a decade later if all rice farmers sell their rice fields to investors. The investors will change these beautiful rice terraces become luxurious hotels. There will be no rice field left. As a result, there will be no food supply. Indonesia has to import all the food stuffs from neighboring country. Initially, rice can be produced and gained cheap with a good quality in our own country, but later Indonesia has to import rice. What an apprehensive situation! Indonesia is an agricultural country, but Indonesia cannot fulfill its own food stuff.

UNESCO and government have forbidden concrete jungle construction. United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) have acknowledged traditional irrigation in Jatiluwih Rice Terraces, Tabanan as world heritage in 2011. UNESCO supports the effort of people to keep rice fields and never let investors buy this beautiful legacy. According to The Law No. 41 Year 2009 land of agriculture must be protected. Here people ought to increase their awareness to keep rice fields exist because rice fields are sources to keep Indonesia stay prosperous. Food supply is the main requirement for people to stay alive.  Last but not least, Provincial Cultural Office with the Regional Representatives Council (DPRD) of Bali Province initiated also a regulation of the irrigation. This regulation has been set on December 14^th, 2012 to protect rice fields from transferring function.  Therefore, farmer ought to save their own rice field from investors and never let our panoramic green belt change into thousand of buildings. Many strong supports from instances related should make people open their eyes to keep rice fields eternal now and forever.

In fact, some farmers let their fields to be sold because investors over plenty of money to them. Moreover, when farmers need money, it will be easier for investors to persuade farmers to sell the rice fields. By selling rice fields and getting much money from investors, it does not mean that economical of farmers will be better, it will be worse instead. According to research that has done by Rahmanto in 2002 showed that the lost of farming area in West Java and East Java reach the number of 1,5–2 millions/Ha and the lost of working opportunity reach the number of 300-480 HOK/Ha. Earning of tractor industrialist and hulling paddy also decrease 46-91 thousands/Ha because of land construction. From that data, people have to realize that concrete jungle construction makes many people who works in agriculture lose their job. Both of farmers and investors have to be aware that our rice fields as world heritage are something priceless. If people still want to eliminate green belt area in Indonesia, there will be so many farmers who become jobless.

The perception of selling rice fields to get more money should be examined because of several reasons, such as: concrete jungle construction can cause exceptional food crisis, UNESCO and government have forbidden concrete jungle construction, and it will make many people who work in agriculture become jobless. That is why, do not ever try to sell your priceless rice fields. I hope by refusing concrete jungle construction, all people in Indonesia can open their eyes to keep the existence of rice fields. If we fully believe that concrete jungle construction is a threat for the future, we will never think to do so. By keeping agriculture in Indonesia, it will bring prosperous life to us because Indonesia can fill the major food stuff by itself. 

Ready for a Hunt

When I was in Senior High School until I was in the second semester in University, I have bought some clothes, such as: shirts, skinny jeans, blazers, cardigans, and so on which I used only once or even I never use at all. Those were just like displays which filled my wardrobe. Commonly, I will be easily attracted by the latest fashion without considering other aspects. As the result, I just got disappointment. Finding the right clothes in the boutique is time consuming, seizing energy, and spending money, so you have to be very careful whenever you want to go hunting. There are several tips which can help you in finding nice clothes accordance with your expectation.

Before you are going to buy some clothes, you have to consider several things. First, decide your necessity and budget that you have. Make assure that things you are going to buy are what you really need. You have to make a great plan and list of what kind of clothes that you are going to buy. Generally, buying clothes which are unplanned will cause disappointment later because in the boutiques you will see a lot of good clothes and you are going to buy that strayed from your purpose. Afterwards, adjust your budget. Budget is the crucial one in buying clothes. You do not have to cost a lot as long as the clothes are appropriate with your necessity and your expectation, those are more than enough.

Then, decide place and time you want to go. You have to decide which boutiques have a good quality as well as an affordable price for your budget. Thus, your destination will be directed. It will make every step will result a certain outcomes to avoid useless effort. In addition, deciding your time when you are going to buy clothes is another important thing that has to be considered. Do not ever hunt for clothes in the evening because you can’t see the clothes as clear as in the morning or at noon. It is better for you to buy clothes when the sun still shines because the light from the sun and the light from the lamp in the boutiques or shops are not the same. Sometimes, the light in the boutiques or shops can deceive.

Now, you are ready to go to some boutiques or shops to look for clothes that you want. During the search, do not stick in one boutique or shop. If you can’t find clothes as what you expect in a boutique, you can try your luck in another boutique based on your nominee boutiques that you have decided before. Do not hesitate to move to another boutique, moreover if the price is not match with your budget. You can also compare the price which one is more affordable while you move from one boutique to another boutique.

After finding clothes that you want, don’t be rush to buy it. You have to pay attention on several things, such as: your body shapes, materials of the clothes, and suggestion from others. You have to make sure that the clothe fits with your body shape, so you do not need to be shy to fit it. You have to look closely, whether it is totally fit with your body shapes or not. After paying attention on your body shapes, now take a look to materials which are used. Materials of the clothes can determine your comfort in doing activities. It is much better for you to choose clothes with materials which can absorb your sweat and make you flexible in moving on. If you want to make sure that your choice is precise, you can ask opinion from others because someone can give suggestion about what is the most suitable clothe for you. You can invite parents, friends, boyfriends, and even designer clothes to give you consideration. Finally, you find the best one.

Hunting for clothes is a routine as a girl, but if shopping will only make you bankrupt and you are not satisfied with what you have bought, that is a kind of wastefulness. Therefore, if you want to hunt for some clothes, remember to consider those beneficial tips to avoid disappointment later. Buying clothes is not too difficult as long as you are smart and meticulous in choosing clothes, you will find many nice clothes. Do not forget to figure out your necessity, you have to adjust with your budget, decide your boutiques, consider the time, fit the clothes whether those are really fit with your body shapes or not, check the material that is used, and ask suggestion from others. You will be very satisfied every time you go shopping. I do love those tips because I never get disappointment when I buy clothes anymore. 

Best School, Best Outcome

School is an important place for people in this entire world. Every school has its own features. There are schools which emphasize on skill, like vocational schools; there are schools which more concern with academic development, like general schools; and there are many International schools, like Bali Mandara. Every person has also different interest, ability, and budget in choosing the appropriate school. Therefore, you have to be very careful in choosing school because school will affect the output of the students. Here are some tips which can help you in choosing the best school based on your interest and budget that you have.

Before you decide a school that you want to enter, you have to concern on your interest first. You have to know yourself well, which skill that you want to improve. If you want to develop your ability in English, an International school can be the best decision. As you know that International school use English as the major language, so you will have more chance to practice your English there. If you want to develop your skill, like in the vocational school, you have to choose vocational school as well. Vocational school will teach you more about practice, so you will be able to work after graduating from vocational school. There are so many majors in vocational school, such as: engineering, housekeeping, accounting, etc. You have to choose one of those majors based on your interest. If you want to learn more about academic, you can choose general school, whether you prefer public to private school.

After you know your interest, you have to adjust your budget with your interest. If you don’t have much money to pay the school fee, you can choose public school. Public school is built by the government, so you can get more scholarship here. If you want a school which is more private than public school, a private school can be the right choice. The school fee in private school is more expensive than public school. In private school, you will get features accordance with your school fee. If those school not really match with your expectation, don’t worry, there are still many International schools. International school will cost much money. International school is more expensive than private and public schools. The features in International school are also excellent.

Now, you can enter to school that appropriate for you. Choosing school is not too difficult as long as you consider those tips. Don’t ever choose school that is in appropriate with your interest and your budget because you will get disappointment later. Worth Achievements

There are billions people in this world who have their pride achievement. People surely have their own achievement during their life. They have different path from one to the other in gaining what they really expect to gain. Achievement can’t be gained easily. Therefore, people have to struggle from the bottom in order to get something in the top. That’s why, an achievement is something worth. I witness my parents’ achievements in this life. Although I admire the way my parents take care of me, love me, and encourage me, I want to have better achievements than my parents.

My parents have gained so many achievements during their marriage, but still there is a slight thing that I do not like from them. They have been a prosperous couple; they have a happy family. They maintain their household, family accounts, education of their children, and many others very well. They treat their children with affection which make me acknowledge them as a good model in my family. They are very concern with their daughters’ education because they want to see all of their children to be successful. That’s why they educate 2 of my younger daughters and me as maximum as they can afford. They are also a good model in saving family accounts. They can fulfill their daughters’ necessity so far. However, there is a slight thing that I don’t like from my parents. Sometimes, they think in an old fashion one. They forbid me to have a boyfriend until I finish my study. They will easily get mad when they know I have a date with a boy.

They inspire me so much in educating my children later. I have learnt many things from them in maintaining a harmonic family. When I have a same position like my parents now, I want to have a better life certainly. Prosperous life is my goal where I can give my best for my children as what my parents always do for me.  First of all, I want to have an eternal affection within my family because without affection a family means nothing. I will save and keep my family accounts very well because I don’t like spending my money for nothing. It is better for me to save it and use it for other useful things. I will educate my children firmly like what my parents always apply to me. I want my children grow as an educated person, not only smart in lessons, but also have a good character. On the other hand, I will not follow my parents’ thought which is little bit out of date in a case they forbid me to have a boyfriend. 

How lucky I’m to have them as my parents because every single thing that they do can make me amazed although there is a slight view point of them that make me uncomfortable. I feel amazed because they have countless love for their three daughters. Honestly, I never feel secure, comfortable, and calm as what I feel in my home. Hopefully, I can have a prosperous family later. Being a good parent for my children is uneasy for me because I have to concern about many things, such as: education, necessity, and development of my children, but I will try my best to have a better life than now.  Lastly, I hope my children lucky to have me as their parent. 

Beauty of Differences

Nobody in this entire world ever has same personality as well as appearance one to the other. Every individual is very unique and special. Therefore, every individual has his/her own characteristic which can be a sign to differentiate him/her. Appearance can be also a sign to differentiate someone. As I remember, I have also 2 friends with their different characteristics and appearances which make them very special in my eyes.

Ery and Dedy are my friends in University. I have known them for roughly 2 years and I realized that they are very different. Ery is very quiet person. He never starts and develops a conversation. He is very famous with his flat expression because every time he talks whether it is about something happy or sad, his expression will be the same. On the other hand, Dedy is a cheerful person. He always start every conversation that we have even Dedy can talk for hour and hour without getting bored.

They are also very different in doing daily routines in campus. After arriving at campus, Ery will reach classroom soon and sit down on the chair neatly while waiting for the lecturer comes. In contrast, after arriving at campus, Dedy will address all of his friends. He will not go to the classroom soon. Sometimes, he will disrupt his friends’ and my activities, likes talking when we are concentration in doing something and it makes me mad at him. Ery loves to play guitar, but he does not like to sing. Dedy loves to sing and will sing a song everywhere instead.

Apart from those personality differences, they have also differences in their appearance. Ery has light brown skin, but Dedy has darker skin than Ery. Ery has slanted eyes, but Dedy round eyes. Ery is not too tall, but Dedy is tall enough as a boy. Ery loves to use Batik shirt to go to campus and he looks very neat with his best shirt. Dedy usually use shirt which is little bit casual, but he still looks gorgeous with his casual shirt.

Although Ery and Dedy are different, they have their own characteristic and appearance which can make them very unique among other friends. Do not be shy of being different. Difference is not always bad. Sometimes, difference is important to create a colorful friendship. Differences will create many beautiful memories in our life. 

Silly but Exciting

Travelling is an unforgettable moment for everyone. It will be the greatest traveling ever or not. Every person has his/her own experience. I had also an experience in travelling which was very memorable. In every semester holiday, my friends in my Junior High School and I surely have a plan to go somewhere. My friends are Olin, Candra, Linda, and Nopi. As I look back in the previous semester holiday, I realized that my friends and I had to pass some difficulties in order to get a quality time.

We were so happy because holiday finally came and we could go everywhere we wanted, but not in this holiday. Everything seemed not supporting us to go somewhere. The major problem was Olin could not go with us because she was punished by her parents. We would not go if Olin could not join. We tried to find out the best solution, then we visited Olin’s house and talked from heart to heart to Olin’s mom. After a long tense moment, Olin was allowed to go with us, but still she was not allowed to drive her own car. We were very confused about the transportation because usually, we use Olin’s car to hangout, but at that time, she was forbidden to drive it by her parents. We forgot about private transportation, we could still go with public transportation. We decided to go to Water Blow, Nusa Dua because we could reach Nusa Dua by using public transportation, Sarbagita Bus.

On Sunday morning, we waited the Sarbagita Bus at Matahari Terbit Halt. Again and again bad thing happened to us. A crazy boy furthered when we sat on the halt. Totally crazy boy, laughing in his own world and we never know what he supposed to laugh. We were so anxious. We ran as fast as possible to escape from him. We ran for 500 meters until we found a safe place to wait the bus, in another halt. After 15 minutes, the bus came and we went inside it eventually.

After arriving there, we were so happy. We took some picture, felt nice breeze, and saw the panoramic view. We were too busy with our activities; we did not realize that the time was at 7 P.M. We were so exhausted absolutely after walking in a long road. We decided to call Olin’s driver to pick us up at Nusa Dua. Finally, Olin’s driver came and we could go home. We felt very happy although we were so tired. Every time I go to Nusa Dua, I always remember that experience which was very silly, but very exciting.

I hope we can have another best travelling and make countless memories between us. Even though I have to pass some obstacles, I will enjoy as long as I am with my friends. Beautiful travelling is not about how luxurious it is, but how we can enjoy sincerely. Do not ever make a travelling become boring because travelling can facilitate to relax your feeling. When you feel bored, you can try to have a trip with your boyfriend, your friends, and your family.

A Crucial Honesty

How does it feel, when you hesitate in deciding a decision?  You will be extremely confused, whether you have to be honest or not. Once honesty can drive you to be success in solving your problem, you will admire the value of honesty very much. Once you dishonest, you will engage with bad feeling for a long time. Honesty is the highest value in this life more than everything. I had also an experience about my friend. She faced a complicated situation, her name is Alice. Alice got back with her ex boyfriend without getting permission from her parents. Alice’s ignorance to my suggestion for being honest and her decision to keep her backstreet relationship from her parents made me mad at her.

One day, Alice told me about her problem. She got back with her ex boyfriend, his name is Jerry. I knew that their relationship was forbidden by Alice’s parents because they have different religion and family’s background. When their relationship broke, Alice was very sad. She couldn’t move on. After they were apart for approximately 1 year, Alice and Jerry got back to have a relationship. I knew that both of them love each other. They continued their relationship again without known by Alice’s parents. Then, I suggested Alice to be honest about her relationship to her parents. Alice has to talk to her parents honestly. At least she has an effort to get permission. I advised Alice that Jerry had an important role too. Jerry should convince Alice’s parent that he is not as bad as they thought. I believe, everything that is started with a good intention will result a good outcome as well.

Lastly, after a long conversation we had. Alice decided that she will not say the truth to her parent. She was very pessimist. She was afraid that her parents will be angry to her. I knew that she didn’t have any bravery to say it up, but she will never know what the result is if she never try. I was mad and anxious as well. I worry that the problem will be more complicated. Her parents will be much angrier with her if they know about the truth by themselves later. Her parents will judge Jerry as a bad boy instead. Therefore, I suggested her to be honest to her parent and prove to them that her boyfriend has a good intention in their relationship.

Honestly, I don’t like her decision to hide the relationship from her parents because honesty is very crucial in every single thing that we do. Although she doesn’t want to speak up now, I hope that she can say the truth to her parents later. I understand that she loves Jerry very much. It is uneasy in gaining what she really wants, she needs hard efforts to convince and get permission from her parents. Everything has to be started with honesty otherwise worse consequences probably happen.
